English A1-A2

The A-grammar is a practice grammar for learners at levels A1 and A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It is suitable both as additional material to accompany the course and for individual work.

In order to present German grammar in a simple, understandable and motivating manner for beginners, the A-grammar only contains grammatical structures that are important for levels A1 and A2. The focus is not on completeness, but on the relevance of grammatical phenomena for linguistic usage. Each grammar topic is clearly structured into:

  • An illustrated example to introduce the topic
  • An overview of the grammatical forms
  • Notes on structures and use
  • Special notes on syntax
  • Communicative exercises on the topic.
Different forms of exercise are offered to learn and practice grammatical structures. This includes assignment exercises, fill-in-the-blank, and the specification-oriented formulation of sentences or texts. The exercises are integrated into communicative contexts such as dialogues, e-mails, letters or newspaper information. The situations relate to everyday and working life and take up vocabulary from both areas.

Rules, explanations and work tasks are also included in English translation.

The appendix of the book also contains speaking exercises for groups and tandem learners to practice grammatical structures. It also contains blister lists and a thematic overview of the exercises that serve to expand vocabulary and / or can be used as an opportunity to speak, as well as an index.

The A-grammar includes a removable solution booklet and an audio CD with selected texts for pronunciation aid.

Deutsch A1-A2
